Termination of GS1 service

If you wish to terminate your GS1 Company Prefix or application service, please send an email to the GS1 Customer Service.

Please note the following before terminating your GS1 service

  • Terminate the service by the end of the invoicing period (year), in which case we will not charge you for the following year's annual fee.
  • Ensure that all open invoices have been paid at the time of termination.
  • If you wish to transfer the service to another company, please fill in the Application for transfer of GS1 services.

 

Please also note the following before terminating your GS1 Company Prefix

  • You cannot terminate your GS1 Company Prefix if GTINs or other GS1 identification keys created from it are in use.
  • You cannot terminate a GS1 Company Prefix that has been used to create a GLNs for the GS1 Synkka or GS1 Golli service unless you also terminate the service in question.
  • We will also deactivate the terminated GS1 Company Prefix in the GS1 Rekisteri, which means that GTINs or other items identified with GS1 identifiers created from it will no longer be found in the global register search.

 

When terminating the service, please send the following information to GS1 Customer Service

Details of the terminating company

  • company name
  • VAT number
  • contact person
  • telephone number
  • email address

Details of the service to be terminated

  • GS1 Company Prefix: number
  • GS1 Synkka: GLN number used in the service
  • GS1 Golli: GLN number used in the service

Termination details

  • Date on which the termination takes effect
  • Reason for termination

 

Send the information by email to GS1 Customer Service at asiakaspalvelu@gs1.fi. You will receive confirmation by email once our customer service has processed your company's termination notice.
