GS1's standards for sharing information provide a uniform structure and format for information exchange between different actors in the value chain. With them, business partners can easily and efficiently exchange, for example, master data on product information, transaction information on orders, or information on the product's various stages in the value chain. Standardized information sharing promotes the real-time, transparency, accuracy and reliability of information, which in turn improves the efficiency of the supply chain and customer satisfaction.
