Deforestation regulation information flow in the food chain

With the deforestation regulation, companies in the food chain face entirely new requirements for collecting and sharing information. Information is needed from the primary production and, in some cases, even at the level of production batches. The development project responded to the industry's call by developing models that allow the necessary information to be collected and shared efficiently and consistently among the operators who need it.

The development project was part of the Food Data Finland growth engine program coordinated by GS1.

Project publications are no longer available for download

The development project was carried out before the simplifications to the EU Deforestation Regulation adopted at the end of 2025. The project outputs were therefore based on the previous requirements of the regulation and do not fully comply with the current regulations.

For this reason, the project publications have been removed from downloads. This is to ensure that outdated information is not interpreted as guidance on the current requirements of the deforestation regulation.
