The information in Rekisteri will be visible to all
The use of GS1 Rekisteri is now possible for all GS1 Finland customers, and it is included in the annual fee. Already over 3700 companies use Rekisteri and 800 000 codes are stored. Companies using a GS1 company prefix store all their used GTIN codes (Global Trade Item Number) in Rekisteri. The service enables easy creation and management of GTIN codes and barcodes.
THE INFORMATION IN REKISTERI WILL BE VISIBLE TO ALL, EVERYWHERE
During spring 2022 we will publish a tool on our website, in which anyone can check to what product and what company a single GTIN is registered.
Now it is worth for all Rekisteri users to check the information stored, and update if needed. Special attention should be given:
- Is the Brand the products own brand or a trademark? (e.g., Hatwall)
- Is the Product name unique and clear? The exact same name cannot be given to two or more products, and it should state clearly what product it is, e.g., it cannot be a supplier code.
- Is the status for the products correct? All products still sold should be marked Active and those that are no longer on the market should be marked Inactive. Draft should be used only temporary for products that are still being prepared for market.
