Username activation and first login

Once your company has ordered a GS1 Company Prefix, you will receive a link to activate your username in the GS1 Rekisteri. When activating your username, you define a password for yourself, which you can use to log in to the service. The password must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one number and one capital letter.

It is recommended that you use the Chrome, Safari, and Firefox browsers on your computer to use the GS1 Rekisteri. Mobile usage is not currently supported or recommended.

The first user of the company is assigned Administrator rights. After logging in to the service, you can create new user IDs with different rights for other people in your company, if necessary. More detailed information on user roles can be found in the Users section of this guide.

Users and user permits

Click the Create button to start creating new users. Then enter the new user's email address in the open field and click "Check". Once the email address is validated, enter the other user's new information (at least first name, last name, language, and role) and click "Save." The new user will receive a message at the given email address and will be able to create a password to log in to the service.

The Profile drop-down menu at the top right of the page allows you to edit your own user information and from there you can choose, for example, whether you want to use the service in Finnish or English. You can also log out of the service through the same menu.

The interface has five tabs - Licences, GTINs, GLNs, Companies and Users. Only the company administrator sees the Users tab. You can learn more about the different tabs in the sections below.
