GS1 Data Tuotetiedot is GS1 Finland’s new product information management service, which brings together the functionalities of the current GS1 Synkka and GS1 Rekisteri into a single, evolving service entity.
The project will develop a unified operating model for the collection, harmonisation and digital sharing of structured packaging material data as part of product information.
We coordinate and facilitate industry-developing programs and projects. In addition, we are strongly involved in the development of the GS1's global standards.
GS1 standards provide a common language for data, enabling the information required for the product passport to be shared, understood, and utilised in an interoperable manner regardless of industry, technology, or country.

The Packaging material data model development project developed an operating model for identification and a data model for basic packaging data, which allowed packaging components to be identified and their data to be managed consistently throughout the supply chain, utilizing GS1 standards.

The GS1 Synkka product information service will be updated to a new version on 21 August 2026. On this page, we provide customers using the service integration with more detailed information about the upcoming 3.1.36 version update.

The GS1 Rekisteri is a service for easy creation and management of GTINs, GLNs and barcodes. It is available free of charge to all our customers.
All GS1 identifiers and barcodes are generated using the GS1 Company Prefix.
